The College Library has nearly 60,000 volumes some of which are rare collections. The books of referral worth have been attracting scholars and researchers here. Hostel Facility:
Hostel facility with modern steam-cooking range, power backup, complete safety and security, homely food, reasonable mess charges - these have attracted nearly 800 boys and girls to the hostels run by V.V.S in the campus. |

Co-curricular and Extra-curricular Activities:
Apart from the Activities organized by the Compulsory Associations (Science, Humanities, Commerce & Management) a lot of programmes are conducted through Fine-Arts Assn Kannada Sangha, Literary clubs, N.C.C, N.S.S and Scouts.
Mangalore University has accorded a recognition to Co-curricualr activities by allotting a Credit each in I,II, III & IV Semesters of Degree Programs. There are nearly 20 such forums/association to promote and oversee students’ co-curricular activities. They are –

Sports and Games:
The college has all the Sports facilities – indoor and outdoor –a Multigym, Tennis court and a ground with 400 meters’ track. Special training and coaching are arranged with outside experts and special incentives are provided to the talented and promising athletes & sports persons. |

H.R.D Cell, Placement Cell:
For training in Personality Development, Group Discussion, Debates, Facing Interviews and Soft Skills, these two cell are operating with a view to enhance the employability of our graduates and offer placement help. |

A Commercial Bank is operates there in the campus. For simple Banking Operations, there is also a Co-Operative Bank attached to the Degree College. |

Vivekananda College Employees’ Society operates a Stationery Stores which fulfills the needs of the inmates of the hostels and the day-scholars. |

Free-Midday-Meal-Scheme:
For almost four decades the College has been running a Free-Midday-Meal-Scheme for the students coming from socially and economically weaker sections of the society. This has been supported by our donors, well wishers, Alumni and some of the staff members. At present, nearly 60 students are benefited by this scheme. Our Parent Teacher Association (P.T.A) has been contributing in a big way to this scheme. |

Scholarships & Fee Concessions:
All the Government/ Department sponsored Scholarships for the merited, Scholarships and Concessions granted by the Social Welfare Ministry, Special Incentives for Women students, Hindi & Sanskrit Scholarships, Fee-concessions by the Government and also by V.V.S, P.T.A Scholarship, Endowment & Proficiency Prizes are made available to the deserving students and the total amount runs to several lakhs of rupees. |

Students have the Internet Browsing facility attached to the College Library and Computer Labs. |

Health Centre:
The College has been able to maintain a Health Centre with the sponsorship of P.T.A. where qualified doctors are available (on honorary basis) on fixed days of the week for free check-up and consultations. |

Value-Added Certificate/ Diploma Courses:
The institution offers Certificate/Diploma Courses with U.G.C. assistance besides offering value addition courses such skills as Spoken English , Debate, Photography, Reporting, Creative Writing etc. |

To bridge the gap between actual comptence and the expected level, Bridge Courses are organised by many Departments. Further, Remedial Coaching is conducted for the slow-learners and low-achievers. |
