Vivekananda College is located in a campus of some 42 acres set in the serene  and sylvan surroundings 3 K.ms. from Puttur town( Puttur is 50 kms from Mangalore on Mangalore – Mysore State Highway and is a Taluk Headquarters with an approximate population of 60,000). Carved out of Padnoor and Kabaka villages and also Puttur Municipality, the campus is now occupied by sprawling buildings. The Campus houses now three other institutions along side the Degree College – Vivekananda P.U. College, Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology and Vivekananda Polytechnic With the majestic statue of Swami Vivekananda near the entrance of the Degree College and the imposing buildings of these four institutions and the hostels, the campus gives one an impression of human spirit and collaborative efforts. The Degree College itself has spread its arms over 5 huge buildings that meet the needs of administration, teaching & learning, auditorium, laboratory and library. Quite adjacent to the College buildings are Boys’ Hostel and Girls’ Hostel. The office of the V.V.S itself is located in this campus rendering the campus the centre of bee-hive activity.
